about

A series of toques (rhythms) accompanied by chants honoring three Orisha (saints) of Santeria. These Orisha have their roots from the Lucumi or Anago speaking Yoruba people of Nigeria. First, "Elegua", the divine messenger and keeper of the crossroads. Next, "Oya", a powerful goddess of turbulence and ruler of the Egun (deceased spirits). Last, "Oshun", the goddess of rivers associated with beauty, vanity and gold.
